Hi guys! I’m so excited to be showing you the first subscription book box of The Bookie Box! I obsessively watch Julia’s channel and I’ll have it linked here! Recently she announced that she was going to be creating a sub book box company and I was determined to at least get the first box! So here is the August Bookie Box unboxing/review/my thoughts/my ramblings/why are you still reading/scroll down now!

The first item in this box was this GORGEOUS info card. Like seriously, whoever designed this needs some major credit. It’s laminated and on the back it lists all of the items in the box except one that was left off by accident. This month’s theme was Outer Space and Badass Women.

The next items I found were a notebook and a necklace. The notebook is from Mustard and it is outer space themed. The notebook has plenty of non-lined pages for anything you want to use it for, from drawing to list making. The item retails for $2.48 USD each. The necklace is from TheMoonTales and it is beautiful. The chain is so unique and the necklace has a moon and a galaxy print on it. I couldn’t find another necklace in the shop to compare prices.

The next items in the box were a moon sticker and some lip blam. The moon sticker comes from StudiofactotumUK and I love it. I’m not much for space themed items, but I loved this sticker. It looks so realistic! It retails on the website for $2 USD. The lip balm is an exclusive from Geek Fire Labs! It smells of cherry and chai and it smells wonderful! It’s also Wonder Woman themed… so I wonder what the book is ;). I wasn’t able to find the price of this item since the shop is currently on break and because the shop is in progress of moving to a new website! Check them out in the future!

The last bookish items from this box were a bookmark, a candle, and an art print. The art print is from ArtStoy and it is Wonder Woman themed! It is very beautiful, but the yellow font is a little hard to read. This print retails for about $3 USD on the website. The bookmark and the candle were made by Julia herself and she did a fantastic job with them. The candle is called Diana, it is Wonder Woman themed and the scent is citrus, chili pepper, and black sea. The candle is topped off with glitter and some huge glitter pieces that I’ve never seen before on a candle. I love the scent and the candle is super gorgeous. The candle was exclusive to the box and candles like it retail for about $5 USD. The bookmark is also Wonder Woman themed and is one of the best bookmarks I’ve ever seen in my life! I love how it is laminated and how flexible and resilient it is. The bookmark does have a typo on it, but it is so beautiful that I easily overlook the little misprint. Julia’s bookmarks also retail for about $5 USD. If you want to shop at Julia’s shop click here now!

The last item in the box was the book! It’s Wonder Woman Warbringer and it has a beautiful poster in the back of the book. I’m super excited to read this book! This book is retailing on Amazon for $14.95 USD. Here’s an excerpt of the book:

She will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .

Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.

Alia just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Together, Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. If they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

Verdict:  While this box did have its little hiccups here and there like all first boxes do, I was and still am totally blown away by this amazing box! From the items that I could tally up, the box comes to $32.48 USD, which is already more than what you pay for the box sans shipping. The other items surely put this box way over what you would be paying for these items separately. I loved every item in this box and I am super excited to see where Julia can take this company. My only complaint is that I won’t be able to get the September box and I’ll have to grab boxes when money is available! The September theme is Inner Fire and Mythical Creatures and the reveal card had a sneak peek on the back of it that I will be posting down below. Currently I believe the box is sold out and there will be very few one time boxes available. Get your one time box ordered or go ahead and queue up for the October box. You won’t be disappointed.
